Update: Lapsed policies and grace period extensions
We recognize that due to the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, some life insurance policyowners may struggle to pay their premiums on time. As we announced recently , we’ve established new procedures to help those who have a real need during this time. Since then, we’ve also implemented an automated solution to allow our administrative systems to reflect the grace period extension for policies that have not yet lapsed. Starting when this solution was implemented for each of our administrative platforms, these policies will begin to show as inforce within our systems, not as lapsed. Additionally, we will begin sending out letters to ILFS policyholders who have moved into the extended grace period, and producers will receive copies of these letters. Note: This update DOES impact non-forfeiture options (RPU, APL, ETI, etc.).

We recently made two key improvements to the Care Solutions Calculator to improve your experience with the tool. First, you can now choose the inflation duration you wish to show, rather than being limited to the 20-year capped option only.
